LEGO 75968 Harry Potter 4 Privet Drive

Privet Drive Background Info

Number 4, Privet Drive, Surrey. It must be the most famous and recognisable houses in Surrey, EVER! It was the house that ‘the boy who lived’ was taken too to keep him safe after both his parents were coldly murdered by ‘he who shall not be named’ with the dreaded ‘Avada Kedavra’ killing curse!

For me personally, the opening first couple of scenes in Harry Potter and the Philosophers’ Stone are up there with the best in the whole saga.

The mysterious delivery of the baby to Privet Drive in the middle of the night by a giant on a flying motorcycle in the company of a classic wizard and a cat that turns into a witch!

Later of course we meet the owners of said house, Harry Potter’s Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon, not forgetting the spoilt Dudley!

How terribly they treat Harry even keeping him under the stairs hidden away, poor Harry, he didn’t enjoy living with his relations, but little did he know, his life was about to change in a HUGE way!

He was about to become a WIZARD!

Just WOW! This is so cute and you are going to LOVE the house, car AND the accessories you get with this awesome lego set!

Those geniuses at Lego have thought of everything when it comes to Privet Drive as I’m sure you’ll agree!

I’m not sure who’ll have more FUN, the kids or the adults with this one?

The epic opening scenes that we discussed earlier can be replayed time and time again from having Harry sleeping under the stairs, to having the house BOMBARDED with Hogwarts acceptance letters through the letterbox and fireplace!

Privet Drive Lego Set - Letters

How COOL!?

This set from Lego, isn’t just great as a toy mind you, any avid Harry Potter collector could also display the house in its own cabinet to make a statement piece for all to see!

Many Lego collectors these days are finding room to display their works of art all over the house, you can TOO!

The Weasley’s ‘enchanted’ flying car for me, is just so much fun and you’ll spend hours rescuing Harry from the house to wing your way to Hogwarts, just mind the whomping willow!

Cleverly attache the chain to the bars on the window to allow Harry to make his escape!

Such a fun set with multiple areas of Harry Potter excitement!

As for characters included in the box, you’ll receive

  • Harry
  • Ron Weasley
  • Dudley Dursley
  • Vernon Durlsey
  • Petunia Dursley
  • Dobby

I think this Lego set would make a perfect Christmas or Birthday gift for any Potter fan, as the house is instantly recoginisable and this set is easily one of the most fun and interactive Harry Potter sets out there!

With almost 800 pieces, this is going to keep Harry Potter fans busy and you’ll reap the excitement once the build is finished!

The age for this particular Harry Potter Lego set is 8+ but adult supervision is always reccomended with such types of Lego sets due to the small parts.

Now we have had a look at what you get in the box and described the FUN to be had with this Privet Drive Harry Potter Lego set, let’s have a look at some pros and cons to help with your desicion making process!

This product is without a doubt, one of the better Harry Potter Lego sets online – Iconic house from Privet Drive!

Good character and accessory inclusion in the box

Ineractive elements

The addition of the enchanted flying car is awesome

Fun for all of the family!

Hard to build for younger kids

Small parts have a choking hazard – supervision required at all times.

Privet Drive Lego Set – Verdict

I have bought many Harry Potter sets in my time for my children and this Privet Drive Lego set is up there somehwere in my top five.

I think the main reason this set gets such a high score is that it is just so iconic and recogisnable.

Anyone that is new or old to Harry Potter can tell you exactly whose house it is and who lives there and I think that give this set so much appeal and usability.

This isn’t one of those Lego sets that’ll end up in the cupboard at the end of day one!

Even for an avid collector, You will love displaying this with your collection or even seperately in its own dedicated space!

Possibly the best playing element for kids is making the Hogwarts acceptance letters fly out from the fireplace, just like the movie, Harry Potter and the Philosipher’s Stone!

Privet Drive Lego Set - Back of House

The little additions such as Hedwig, the ‘Privet Drive’ street name sign and ‘that cake’ that caused so much havoc all make up this wonderful set that makes the perfect gift for your young aspiring wannabe wizards!
